How long are cats in heat?
Cats can stay in heat for four to ten days at a time - after that period is up, it will generally be several weeks before the cat goes back into it again. However, your cat will keep going in and out of heat for quite a long time - usually 7 or 8 months depending on what part of the world you live in and what the temperature is like.
Usually it is best to spay your cats to avoid this. You probably should not spay them while they are in that condition, but you can do it after it is over. This will stop the bad behavior and generally help the health of your cat, and it is recommended by vets in nearly all cases.
