Is there prozac for cats?
Many vets prescribe prozac for cats with obsessive compulsive disorder. It's also a common treatment for depression in cats as well. It may sound weird to be prescribing these kinds of drugs to our pets when many think humans are using them too often themselves. However, with cats the behavior can often be dangerous, and can include self-mutilation. Cats can also get pretty severe depression that can make them miserable most of the time. You can't tell a cat to just cope or get it a psychoanalyst, and drugs like prozac for cats can be a solution that dramatically improves the cat's life.
Don't ever try to give cats prozac made for people or vice versa. The dosages are not the same, and it would be very dangerous for the cat.
